1. General Sales Manager

privately owned media company and are not “corporate radio.” All of our
decisions are made locally. We have a rare opening for a General Sales Manager
at our radio cluster in the Johnson City-Kingsport- Bristol, Tenn. Market. As
the General Sales Manager you will lead a very experienced sales department for
our three FM radio stations; Adult Contemporary 98.5 WTFM, Active Rock 95.9 The
Hog, and Classic Hits 102.7.

Major Responsibilities of This Position
§ Manage the local FM sales department with the goal of
generating revenues that meet or exceed station targets on a monthly,
quarterly, and annual basis.
§ Coach, train, and motivate 8 local Account Executives. Do
you have the mindset of a Coach? Do you view your role as helping others to
maximize their talents and grow their skills?
§ Drive results through others. After all, isn’t that the
real definition of a great sales manager?
§ Set rate structures, control inventory, and create
motivational incentives for customers. We need someone who not only understands
how to maximize inventory demand but also has the creativity to develop ideas
on how to do it.
§ Ensure collection and control of all local accounts.
§ Work closely with our Promotion Director to develop ideas
for market positioning materials.
§ Develop and translate market/station business strategies
into specific actions that generate revenue.
sales activities that generate new business and deepen existing relationships.
We need you to develop ideas and be able to monetize them.
§ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
§ 5+ years in a sales and management capacity with documented
and proven results…We are ready for you to dazzle us with your examples.
§ Exceptional leadership, negotiation, problem-solving, and
strategic-thinking skills...We are eager for you to show us how you have
handled these critical areas.
§ Creative, idea-generating, sales mentality…Show us how your

§ Excellent communication skills both with your “customers”
inside the building and the stations’ customers.
