A Tractor Accident In Sullivan County Has Claimed The Life Of A Piney Flats Man. 56 Year Old Stephen Smith Was Moving Some Logs With A Tractor Along Hunting Hill Road In Piney Flats When The Accident Occurred. According To Witnesses, He Was Attempting To Move A Large Log When The Tractor Began Rolling Backward On A Hill. Smith Attempted To Jump Off The Tractor But Was Unable To Do So Before It Rolled Over And Pinned Him Underneath. He Was Pronounced Dead At The Scene.

Sentencing Has Been Delayed For A Bristol Tennessee Man Convicted Of Kidnapping, Sexually Assaulting And Trying To Kill A Woman Two Years Ago. 62 Year Old Johnny Royston Sr. Was Convicted In May Of Attempted First-Degree Murder And Two Counts Each Of Aggravated Rape And Especially Aggravated Kidnapping. His Attorney Wasn’t Available For The Most Recent Sentencing Hearing, So A New Date Of October 26th Has Been Set.

The School Bus Driver Involved In A Crash In Washington County Tennessee On September 20th That Injured Multiple David Crockett High School Students Has Been Terminated From Her Job. 54 Year Old Brenda Gray Turned Herself In After Being Charged With Eight Counts Of Aggravated Reckless Assault And 31 Counts Of Reckless Endangerment. Director Of School Ron Dykes Said The Decision To Terminate Gray Was Based On A Report From The Tennessee Highway Patrol That Stated The Bus Was Traveling Above The Posted Speed Limit On Mount Wesley Road When She Lost Control In A Curve, Hit Curbing, Overcorrected Causing The Bus To Roll Over Twice. Gray Will Appear For A Preliminary Hearing In Washington County General Sessions Court On October 10th.

He Was Killed While Approaching The School Bus That Had Just Picked Up His Sister On Holder Road. The Tennessee Highway Patrol Said The Investigation Revealed That Baughard Was Suspended From Riding The School Bus When The Accident Occurred.

He Was Taken Into Custody After Allegedly Being Found On The Grounds Of Ross N. Robinson Middle School In Kingsport Which Violated The Conditions Of His Community Supervision. Murphy Was Booked Into The City Jail. He Will Appear In Court Soon.

A former Washington County Virgina teacher has received a five-year suspended sentence for firing a blank gun in class. 61 year old Manuael Ernest Dillow of Kingsport also will spend two years’ probation. Dillow pleaded guilty to brandishing a firearm on school property. Police say Dillow lined up a dozen students at the William N. Neff Center in Abington on April 4 and fired a blank gun multiple times in their direction. Dillow was a welding teacher at the school at the time. Commonwealth’s Attorney Nicole Price says Dillow used the blank gun as a disciplinary method to get the students’ attention.

The Body Of A Missing Johnson City Woman Has Been Pulled From A Carter County Lake. 28 Year Old Vonda Berry Marshall Donaldson’s Body Was Located Near The Butler Bridge In Watauga Lake Yesterday After Her Family Reported Her Missing Earlier This Week. Police Believe She Was Dead And Her Body Dumped Off Butler Bridge Into The Lake. She Was Last Seen With Her Boyfriend, 31 Year Old Steven Bennett, When She Went Missing. Bennett Remains In Jail On A Parole Violation. He Allegedly Told A Family Member He Killed Donaldson After They Argued And He Was Going To Dispose Of Her Body.
