A Shooting Incident Over The Weekend In Blountville Has Lead To One Arrest And No One Getting Hurt. 36 Year Old Antonio Johnson Is Charged With Attempted Murder And Three Counts Of Aggravated Assault That Allegedly Occurred At A Home On Harr Town Road Yesterday Afternoon. Johnson Fled The Scene But Was Arrested A Short Time Later In Kingsport. The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office Said The Shooting Occurred Following An Argument Between Johnson And A Relative Of His Girlfriend. Witnesses Said As Johnson Was Leaving He Allegedly Fired At Least Two Shots From His Vehicle In The Direction Of The Victim, Who Returned Fire. Three People Were Outside The Home At The Time But Were Not Injured.

A Carter County Woman Is Dead Following An Atv Accident Over The Weekend In The Elk Mills Community. Sheriff Chris Mathes Said 26 Year Old Anna Marie Runne, From Florida, Flipped The Atv Four Wheeler Saturday Evening While Helping Her Boyfriend Cut Wood At Clawson Cemetery. She Reportedly Drove On An Embankment And Accidentally Flipped It On Top Of Her. She Was Pronounced Dead A Short Time Later At Johnson City Med Center.

A Carter County Man Accused In One Of The Worst Rape Cases Is Behind Bars. 66 Year Old Leonard Rosco Winters Is Charged With Aggravated Domestic Assault, False Imprisonment And Aggravated Rape. He Allegedly Held The Woman Hostage, Raped Her And Threatened To Kill Her On December 20th. The Victim Was Unable To Get Help Until Two Days Later. The Matter Remains Under Investigation.

There Have Been No New Findings Yet In The Probe Of The Death Of A Veteran Norton Police Captain. Norton Police Chief James Lane Said 62 Year Old Roger Cooke, A 14 Year Member Of The Police Department, Died Following An Accidental Discharge Of A Firearm At His Home Christmas Night. Officials Said Cooke Went To Check Why Lights Went Out At His Residence And That’s When The Shooting Occurred. In Addition To His Police Role, Cooke Was Also A Pastor At Wise Mountain Fellowship Baptish Church And A Member Of A Gospel Singing Group. The Investigation Is Ongoing.

The Trial For Three People Accused Of Running Over A Washington County Tennessee Sheriff’s Deputy With Their Car Has Been Postponed For Two More Months. Dalvin Stephens, Ashley Mcgraw And Reginald Smith Are All Charged With Attempted First Degree Murder. Their Trial Was Set To Start This Week But Prosecutors Ask For The Delay Because A Key Witness Has Not Been Located. Prosecutors Believe After Robbing A Nearby Home, The Trio Got Into A Getaway Car And Struck Deputy Gary Daugherty. The Officer Remains Under A Doctor’s Care And Has Still Not Been Able To Return To Work. They Are Expected To Return To Court On March 4th.
