Sullivan County Authorities Have Arrested A New York Man On Drug Related Charges. 44 Year Old Carlos Altiery Is Charged With Possession Of Schedule One, Two. And Four Drugs For Resale With A Thousand Feet Of A Park. The Charges Stem From An Investigation Into Reports Of Heroin Being Brought Into The Area. Altiery Was Approached By Detectives When He Arrived At The Greyhound Bus Terminal In Bristol, Tennessee. He Handed Over A Package Containing 900 Bindles Of Herion With A Street Value Of 30-Thousand Dollars. In Addition, Artiery Had 100 Oxycodone Pills And More Than 30 Alprazolam Pills In His Pocket. He Will Appear Soon In Court To Face The Charges.

The Kingsport Fire Department Is Set To Begin Its New Smoke Alarm Distribution Program. The Program Will Provide 1-Thousand Dual Sensor Smoke Alarms To Residents. Spokesman Barry Brickey Said The Goal Of The Program Is To Reach Two Groups In Particular, Children And The Elderly. A Gray Man Charged With Trying To Kill A Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper In January Has Been Arraigned On Multiple Charges In Washington County Criminal Court. 20 Year Old Derrick Kitzmiller Was Indicted On Charges Of Attempted First Degree Murder, Felony Evading Arrest With Risk Of Death, Reckless Endangerment And Other Charges Following A High-Speed Chase On January 3rd. Kitzmiller Was On Interstate 81 Operating Some Type Of Blue Flashing Light On His Girlfriend’s Vehicle, Driving Erratically. When Trooper Jeff Appleba Attempted To Stop The Vehicle, Kitzmiller Sped Up And Continued Onto Interstate 26. He’s Accused Of Firing A Weapon At The Trooper. Kitzmiller Remains Jailed On A 120-Thousand Dollar Bond.

Virginia Department Of Forestry Officials Now Say Arson Is To Blame For A Wildfire That Burned Several Hundred Acres Of Grass And Woodland Over The Weekend In A Remote Part Of Scott County. A Spokesman With The Department Said The 450-Acre Fire Was Intentionally Set Sunday Night In A Field Off Beech Grove Road In The Fairview Section Of Scott County. Arson’s Also Being Blamed For A Wildfire That Burned 95 Acres Sunday Evening In Lee County’s Flag Pond Community. Anyone With Information On Either Wildfire Should Contact The Virginia Department Of Forestry Or The Sheriff’s Office In Scott Or Lee County.
