A Discrimination Lawsuit Brought Against The City Of Bluff City By Its Mayor Has Been Dismissed. Mayor Irene Wells Who Is Black Filed The Lawsuit Claiming She Was Not Hired To Be City Manager Because Of Her Race. She Also Stated That Other Members Of The Board Of Alderman Made Racial Comments Toward Her. The Tennessee Human Rights Commission Found No Reasonable Cause To Believe That The City Engaged In Discriminatory Practices.
