A judge has appointed a Johnson City attorney to oversee payments to victims of a school bus crash in Washington County. Lawyer Eddie Lauderback will determine how much each victim will receive from $700,000 in insurance money. A rollover crash injured all 39 students aboard a county school system bus, shortly after it left David Crockett High School the afternoon of Sept. 20. State law limits payouts to $700,000 per incident. Meanwhile, the bus driver, Brenda K. Gray, is awaiting trial on 39 counts of reckless aggravated assault, speeding and reckless driving charges.
