Concerned Parents Got A Chance To Speak Out About Proposed Rezoning Issues In Sullivan County Schools. One Plan Calls For Central Heights Elementary To Close And Merge With Blountville Elementary. It Also Calls For The Closure Of Blountville Middle School And Merge It Into Holston Middle. That Proposal Would Save About 844-Thousand Dollars. Another Calls For North And South High Schools To Merge Into One Building And Use One Of The Buildings As A Middle School. A Third Proposal Would Make South High A Grades 7-12, Close The Two South Zone Middle Schools And Make Elementary Schools Grades Pre-K Through 6. This Would Save Nearly 900-Thousand. No Action Was Taken At This Time.
