A Former Sullivan County Road Commissioner Convicted Of Theft Charges Has Been Denied An Appeal Hearing Before The Tennessee Supreme Court. Allen Pope Was Hoping To Have His Conviction Of Theft Of Services Over Ten Thousand Dollars Overturned. He Was Accused Of Using County Equipment To Do Work For A Private Developer. Convictions Of Official Misconduct And Using Public Equipment For Private Purposes Were Overturned Last Year. The Latest Decision By The State Supreme Court Means The Conviction Stands And He Won’t Be Allowed To Return To His Post.
