SVLAS Announces 2022 Regional DV Conference Reality DV: Domestic Violence in Appalachian Culture October 7, 2022
Southwest Virginia Legal Aid Society, in collaboration with domestic and sexual violence professionals in Southwest Virginia, is hosting its 19th Annual Domestic Violence Conference on October 7th, titled “Reality DV: Domestic Violence in Appalachian Culture.” The conference will be held in-person at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center in Abingdon, VA, from 8:45 A.M. to 3:30 P.M.
To register, please visit our website, www.svlas.org. The registration fee is $40. Coffee, water, pastries, and a full lunch buffet is included in the conference fee.
Topics endemic to the region will be covered such as rural trends, stalking, mental health, and spiritual beliefs. Other topics include new legislation, and the basics of domestic and sexual violence advocacy for professionals and victims.
Continuing Education Credits – up to 5.0 credit hours – have been approved for Attorneys, Guardians Ad Litem, Magistrates, Court Clerks, Law Enforcement, and Adult Protective Services employees.
