Featured speaker, Wayne Campbell, is president and founder of Tyler’s Light, a grassroots non-profit organization that brings awareness to communities across the country about the dangers of prescription and illegal drug use. Wayne has pioneered the effort to reach students and communities through cutting-edge presentations. He has spoken to over 175,000 students at 250 schools in 12 states. The organization was named after Wayne’s son, Tyler, who tragically died of an accidental drug overdose in July 2011 after a fight with addiction to prescription pain medication. Additionally, Wayne has appeared on CBS’s 60 Minutes, HBO Real Sports, and other major media outlets.

Other speakers include Brandy Maltsburger, a Behavioral Health Educator for Frontier Health, Inc. with 20 years’ experience working with children and families and specializing in impacts of Adverse Childhood Experiences; and Jason Abernathy, a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist with Insight Alliance working on the Lifeline Peer Project providing peer recovery services based on the principles of recovery and resiliency.

There will be a resource fair at 5:30 for those who want more information on drug prevention, treatment and other topics concerning opioid abuse and drug addiction.
