Amy Bristle
Amy was raised in Jefferson North Carolina where she loved playing with her imaginary friend Suzie who was tragically killed in an accident involving an eighteen-wheeler. Amy had big dreams of being the next Barbara Walters, so she headed off to NC State to peruse degrees in Communications and cow milking. After a making it as a TV news reporter in Wilmington North Carolina she realized that covering the news involved a lot of dealing with things like murder and mayhem — and that was no fun at all! But what was fun was filling in on the local radio show and next thing Amy knew she was waking up at the crack of dawn to co-host her first morning show on Jammin’ 99.9. After working all over eastern North Carolina and in Chicago Amy is excited to be here in the Tri- Cities and reunited with her favorite partner Mark.
Mark Andrews
I was born in Rantoul, Illinois, a small town in the middle of the state. When I was 15 my family moved to Myrtle Beach, SC and I’ve spent most of my life in the south and southeast. After having careers as a window washer, an airline pilot, art gallery owner, beat writer for the Washington Post, an A&R consultant for Bad Boy records, owner of a chain of legal recreational marijuana dispensaries in Colorado, botanist, spy novel writer, and sports agent for the likes of Tom Brady and Michael Jordan, I began my radio career in 1989. I’ve worked in radio in Myrtle Beach, SC… Mobile, AL… New Bern, NC… Raleigh, NC… Wilmington, NC… Muscle Shoals, AL… Asheville, NC and, of course, the Tri-Cities. I’m very passionate about fundraising and charity events. I love helping the community. I’ve been closely associated with Make-A-Wish, Children’s Miracle Network, United Way, American Red Cross, and Disabled American Veterans. I truly am a sucker for helping kids, soldiers and veterans. I have also been a voice-over artist for more than 20 years so you’ve probably heard me on TV. On a personal level, family means everything to me, and I married WAAAAY up to a spectacular woman who somehow deals with me and this job. I’m a very private person with a pretty low-keyed, laid-back personality. Thankfully being on the morning show means I no longer wash windows. I just peep into them.
